Rented two of the 3 Lighthouse Keeper’s cottages available over Christmas and it was amazing. Booking was simple and the managers of this community lead project could not have been more helpful.
The accommodation has recently been renovated to a very high standard while retaining its 200 year old character. The rooms are spacious, warm and well fitted out with comfortable beds and open fires to add to the atmosphere.
The setting is unrivaled with spectacular views and access to long sandy beaches.
James @LighthouseTavern (10 mins walk away - depending on how many consumed) is a library of information and is an excellent host.
The lighthouse tours are a must and our guide was bright, bubbly and really informative.
There are a number of restaurants nearby (with car) many specializing in fresh fish.
Overall an unforgettable experience. - 17/12/2018
Stunning location - put it on your bucket list Donegal is fantastic and Fanad Head on the Wild Atlantic Way is a must see and staying there in the fantastic apartment is just fantastic. The accommodation is perfect and has everything you need and you're staying at a Lighthouse. We cooked out own food but if you want there's the Lighthouse Tavern up the road and they'll leave you back if you want a drink. We loved it and will be back especially if we can be left in charge again. Highly recommend - 17/05/2018
Absolute perfection! I have never stayed in such a special place! To stay at a lighthouse is a great experience. The views around here are absolutely breathtaking. Our accommodation was called the Dunree View. It's a place for two people… There is no wifi or tv which is wonderful. Why hang your head down mindlessly on your phone when you have such beauty around you.
We left the lighthouse just a week ago and I constantly daydream of being back there again! - 02/07/2017
Unforgettable stay Just spent 4 days in Tory View and I am missing it already. The accommodation is top notch, everything provided. Kitchen has everything, working stove, comfortable beds, great shower. This has been one of the most magical and relaxing stays I have had anywhere. The tour of the lighthouse with John was fantastic… Followed shortly afterwards by dolphins playing in the bay. It almost felt unreal. We are already planning a return visit. Worth every cent. If you want something special, this is it. - 18/03/2018
Probably the only accommodation in Ireland where you don't mind if the weather is stormy, as it was for two of the three nights... The walls are massively thick and you don't hear the weather outside. Huge radiators leave the cottage very cosy. No WIFI, no telly. Mobile phone signal just appearing in certain parts of the house. We drove to the pub and walked back (downhill, 10-15 minutes) then Id go and pick up the car in the morning. All in all, a brilliant experience. - 15/05/2019
The cottage was fantastic! Clean, comfortable and in the most amazing location on the edge of the cliffs adjoining the lighthouse. Amazing views in good and bad weather. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and James gave us a very interesting tour of the lighthouse itself.
