Eating Out

Donegal is fast becoming a foodie destination and there is a wealth of excellent food establishments in the Fanad peninsula and surrounding areas.

Ireland has a well-deserved reputation for quality local produce, with the emphasis on ‘grown, not flown’. You can experience the best of traditional and modern Irish cuisine in Donegal – from turf-smoked salmon to lobster fresh from the sea, from free-range beef to organically grown vegetables, from foraged wild mushrooms to hand-gathered seaweed.

There is also a growing craft beer and spirits industry in the county.

We have the Lighthouse Café on site, offering a range of teas, coffees, snacks, ices and home-baking.

For something more substantial, here is a list of local cafés and restaurants.

(Please note, many local eateries may be closed or run a limited service in off-season months, so please check with the establishment for opening hours at the time of your visit.)
