- Guided Tower Tour (Please note: height restriction – minimum height for children 1.2M)
- Self-guided Tour of the Grounds & Exhibition Spaces
Learn about the lighthouse keepers and their families, the shipwrecks of Lough Swilly, and how the light itself has changed over two centuries of keeping ships safe at sea. Climb 76 steps to the top of the tower for spectacular views over land and sea.
Explore the beautiful, rugged scenery of Fanad Head, a Wild Atlantic Way signature discovery point. Enjoy a coffee & snack, or browse the craft shop for some unique souvenirs and local crafts.
You may explore the grounds and exhibition spaces before or after this time. Please arrive in good time to get from the car park to the lighthouse (5-10mins walk).
You can show your mobile receipt at the tower, or redeem for a paper ticket in advance at the visitor centre.
Tower tour tickets may be booked online up until the day before your visit. Remaining time slots may be available on the day but we advise online booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
Children under 5 are free so you do not need to add them to the booking – however, please note that the minimum height for climbing the tower is 1.2M. Any children under 1.2M must remain at the base of the tower with a guardian.
